If you love to sing and have experience in SATB choirs or want to learn, the DPC Chancel Choir is the place for you. The goal of this non-audition adult and young adult choir is to lead the congregation in blended worship while using our gifts to present classic choral literature as a sacrifice of praise to God. This choir sings in Sunday morning worship about every four to six weeks.
The Choir also presents seasonal special music and has recently combined with area High School Choirs for special presentations. On Feb. 25, 2006, Dr. Thomas R. Smith, Director of Choral Activities at Auburn University, directed the DPC Chancel Choir on Sunday morning and the combined DPC Chancel Choir and Hartselle High School Performers on Sunday evening. The choirs sang William Dawson spirituals.
The Chancel choir also forms the “core” of the Worship Choir to allow the inexperienced singers to participate in leading corporate worship.
The Choir meets at the church on Wednesday nights for dinner (5:45) and practice from 6:00-7:15. To view a list of past, current and future choir music, click here.
